This project took place during my second semester of my Freshman year. The purpose of this project was for us to learn about the Industrial Revolution and how it was the beginning to a new world of manufactured products and a society in which people who had the capitol could create big industries in order to accumulate great wealth. During class discussions we would analyze these times and make comparisons between where we see our selves today and the working class during the 1820's and 1840's.
Energy was relevant to the Industrial Revolution because without it brilliant inventions wouldn't have been discovered and used. The different types of energy are; nuclear, electrical, elastic, thermal, GPE, light, kinetic, sound, and chemical. The "creative" side to this project was creating our very own world of Steampunk. Steampunk is a fictional genre that usually uses steam powered machinery and a Victorian aesthetic in a very whimsical and interesting art form. Individual students created their very own Steampunk costume in order to wear during our class exhibition. |
