2016 and the first months of 2017 have been a period of exceptional controversy in the United States. During these times terminology such as; climate change, Russian hackers, and Wikileaks have become something everyone can recognize from popular politics. For my 10th grade Humanities class we decided to narrow down on fake news.
Like a big part of people following current events, myself and my peers have often fallen victims to fabricated stories created in order to push some type of political agenda on their readers or to make a profit. We found it difficult to tell apart what was fake and what was real in a time when facts determine our beliefs, our actions, and what our future will look like.
In efforts to learn how to detect fake news ourselves, deceive the public, and in the end come up with a easy way to share our knowledge with others; this is what the entirety of our project looked like.
