On most days students were given class handouts that served to inform groups where they should be with progress in the project and helped keep our notes organized. These are a few of the handouts that I feel have helped me the most throughout the project.
In order to get a sense of what a "real" podcast sounds like, we were given the task of listening to multiple different podcasts that could be about whatever interested us. Doing this introduced me to how exciting a well thought out and executed podcast could be. Whenever I would listen to a entertaining podcast I'd think to myself "I can do that!". |
As someone who has never conducted an official interview, let alone having to walk up and politely insist on having one to complete strangers, doing this at Balboa Park was a daunting task. This handout helped me feel more prepared with how I was going to introduce myself and my group to a stranger and feel confident with asking the pre-prepared questions that my group came up with the day before. The sheet also organized who provided the interviews we knew we could use in our podcast by writing down their names and characteristics I could remember the person by. |
The Group Assessment handouts were very helpful in being able to take note of what you have contributed to the project and what other group members have also contributed. This helped me reflect on my own work and how it could compare to someone else's. For example; if a teammate spent an hour trimming interviews, I would make an effort to recognize their hard work and meet it by spending an hour in taking tape logs. |
